6th Grade Civil War
In this unit Virginia 6th graders will explore some of the Civil War's most noteworthy individuals and make connections to how different types of people influence the course of history.
Students will partake in whole class, small group, and individual lessons and activities.
They will have the opportunity to use a variety of multiple intelligences and extend this topic into a variety of subjects.
Students will also have the opportunity to examine a wide range of researching methods including books and encyclopedias, field trips, primary sources, Internet resources, and more.
They will get a chance to explore concrete activities as well as use abstract thinking all while remaining engaged with challenging, but grade appropriate elements.
